Flameproof Lift Trucks Bring Peace of Mind

Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) the service provider for Doosan forklifts in South Africa has successfully installed the Pyroban flameproof system which conform to both local and international flameproofing specifications. These diesel forklifts are Zone 2 protected and  have been successfully put through their paces at Cray Valley (PTY)LTD, who is a leading manufacturer of coated and unsaturated polyester resins in South Africa..

Cray Valley logistics manager, Faizal Iqbal says that the Pyroban system has been excellent. “We work in an environment where it is essential to be assured that machinery will not operate when the flammable gas levels are dangerously high and the Goscor machines are performing well,” says Iqbal.

He says that that the forklifts cut out instantaneously when the gas levels reach specified levels. “This reliability brings peace of mind to the work environment,” says Iqbal adding that on the odd occasion when the Pyroban system has been slightly too sensitive, cutting the machines out before the levels are reached, Goscor has reacted quickly and efficiently to rectify the situation. “I have a long association with GLTC and they consistently produce excellent service when you need it.”

Warren Newell, sales manager KwaZulu-Natal GLTC says there has been an essential partnership with Brian Atkins from Expolsion Protection Equipment. “Identifying the correct zone classification is essential to which system to install and with the help of Explosion Protection Equipment we were able to ensure Cray Valley the best system available, Goscor has been in partnership with Cray Valley for more than 10 years and it is because of our professional relationships and service levels that we have now renewed the contracts for an additional 5 years ,” says Newell.

The latest deal with Cray Valley consisted of 3 x D2.5-5 forklifts, 1 x D30-5 forklift and 1 x BR16 JW Doosan reach truck.
